IFMA World Workplace Confrence and Expo
October 7th and 8th at the Colorado Convention Center
IFMA, International Facility Management Association, www.ifma.org if you want to learn more. Members of CoWLug and DenLUG were invited by Darin, who is a member of the local IFMA organization that put on this event and is a member of DenLUG to display some of our MOCs and creations at this expo. It’s not the usual type of event by any means. No kids and all business professionals. It was also very fun, especially on the last day picking up some of the giveaways by the booths. We also shared the space with Ed McCaffery and Randy Gradishar from the Denver Broncos when they came to sign autographs.
Ian, Abby, Duane, Jeremy, Jim M, Todd E, and Darin put together a small display. It had creations from city buildings including the cash register building, Republic Plaza, a refinery, pushbutton operated amusement park, Technic builds and tops, to a Denver Bronco mosaic that had autographed tiles added, and a tornado. Basically, Facilities for a Facility Management Expo.
Ed McCaffery #87 and Randy Gradishar #53 signed tiles and Duane’s Denver Bronco Mosaic.
Jim’s pushbutton operated amusement park. Todd’s tornado and mill operated by pushbuttons as well.

The overall layout of the display. Ian’s Repbulic Plaza towering over everything, the giant white building. Jeremy’s Technic and tops display is off to the right.

There’s no stopping the rides, you have to work on them as you can.

Duane’s refinery, train tunnel, with a volcanic Minecraft scene lit up.

Doofenshmirttz Evil Incorporated on the left and the iconic cash register building by Duane.
Jim’s pushbutton amusement park. I found it interesting how hard it was to get people to “push the buttons”.
It was a fun and different event to participate in. And it proves that LEGO makes everything better, even an expo.
Thanks to Darin for the invite. Pictures provided by Ian and Duane.
